There is an active shooter situation at the Walmart in Amarillo, Texas. According to news reports, Amarillo police are responding to what was described as an “active shooting incident and a ‘barricaded suspect’ at Walmart. The Walmart is located at 4215 Canyon Dr, in Amarillo, Texas. The shooting was first reported at about 11:30 a.m. local time, and since then, a police command center has been set up outside the store.
According to KFDA-TV, the suspect is reportedly to a Somalian man wearing khaki pants. He is said to have barricaded himself inside the manager’s office, police said.

A press release from the city of Amarillo said the following:
“The City’s Office of Emergency Management, Amarillo Police and Amarillo Fire are on the scene of an active shooter incident at the Walmart on Georgia off of I-27,”
Police are asking the public to stay away from the area, as they have been closing roads around the store. According to the Randall County Sheriff’s Office the Georgia Street off ramp on south bound I-27 is being closed to all traffic. As of right now, there have been no confirmed injuries or deaths.
