★ Putin Was Shown The ★ NEW Russian Weapons ★ Before Sending To Syria - ...

Putin is a man who has done so much harm to innocent people throughout the area in Syria. But I must also consider that he is the head of a state, and that state is a big state, and he feels that state should have a decision-making role in the world,” he said. “And we have to deal with him. And it’s not that you ignore him or cast him off as a megalomaniac. He has a vision of the world and a strategy to put that vision in place.

The Russian leader is reportedly mounting an enormous military mission to take control of the terror group's stronghold of Raqqa. The city is the self-declared capital of ISIS in Syria and is patrolled by as many as 5,000 jihadi members. Putin is set to mobilise 150,000 reservists who he conscripted into the military earlier this week.

Putin has rescued the Syrian army from almost certain defeat and President Assad's government from possible collapse. Assad owes him and if Russia has any influence with the Syrian leader, it has never been greater than right now.

Vladimir Putin the peacemaker? Russia's President hints at pivot in Syria

By hosting Assad in Moscow, Turki said, Putin sent a message to the region that anyone who wishes to oust Assad must go through him. Putin may not be sincere when he says he wants to fight the Islamic State, but the U.S.-led coalition has not committed the resources necessary for the mission either, he said.

So, why launch a bombing campaign if your objective is peace? By betting, rightly, that the United States and its allies would not stop him, Putin can prove he's a global player, projecting force well beyond his borders while, at the same time, scorings points against what he calls a weak and indecisive America. Then, he can switch roles to peacemaker, showing he can end the military action that he began.

Syria: What’s In It For Putin?

For Vladimir Putin, Syria is not just about supporting President Bashar al-Assad. It’s about Russia’s place in the world.

Ever since Russia began airstrikes in Syria a month ago, it has made the case that it is aiding the Assad government in a fight against terrorists like ISIS.

Confirming the successful raids, Andrei Kartapolov from the Russian army vowed to ramp up the pressure, saying: "We will not only continue strikes... We will also increase their intensity."

And Russian Defence Ministry spokesman Igor Konashenkov said: "Over the past 24 hours, Sukhoi Su-34 and Su-24M fighter jets have performed 20 sorties and hit nine Islamic State installations.
