BLOOD MOONS, THE SHEMITAH AND PROPHETIC IMPLICATIONS WE CAN’T IGNORE
Israel is appropriating $29 million to help farmers observe a critical agricultural commandment from the Mosaic law, according to WND.
That commandment instructs the Israelites to give the land a rest from all agricultural activity once every seven years.
In the Torah, the Sabbath concept isn’t limited to the seventh day of the week; it also applies to every seventh year—also known as the Shmittah year.The $29 million in funding is headed to Israel’s Religious Affairs Ministry, which will spend the money encouraging and enabling Jewish farmers who wish to follow the command.
Though farming regulations may seem insignificant to Western eyes, it was in part Israel’s original failure to observe the resting years that resulted in the 70-year exile (2 Chronicles 36:20-23)—a seven-decade “Sabbath rest” for the land.
The Sabbath year command has not been observed in any real official capacity since A.D. 70, when God judged the nation of Israel for rejecting the Messiah, Jesus Christ, about 40 years earlier.
Biblically, while Israel may once more seek to observe the ordinance, the Jewish people remain in spiritual exile (Romans 11:7-11, Acts 28:25-28) because they rejected the Messiah’s true Sabbath rest for the soul (see Hebrews 4).
The move on Israel’s part may be critical as the nation navigates through events surrounding blood moons occurring in 2014 and 2015, which may be prophetically significant.
In the book of Joel, the prophet writes, “The sun shall be turned into darkness, and the moon into blood, before the coming of the great and awesome day of the Lord. And it shall come to pass that whoever calls on the name of the Lord shall be saved” (2:31-32). At Pentecost, the Apostle Peter quotes that passage in reference to the outpouring of the Holy Spirit. Now, many are connecting that same passage to a new end-times move of the Spirit preceding Christ’s return—whenever that may be.
The question is: why Israel’s revived interest in the law? Is it drawing closer to seeking God’s will just as when King Josiah rediscovered the law in 2 Kings 22? Or is it instead keeping God “on their lips” but far from their hearts as they “seek to establish their own righteousness”—not knowing that the whole point of the law is to be fulfilled in the righteousness given freely through the Messiah (Romans 10:3-4)?
The unusual tetrad of lunar eclipses correspond with Jewish feast dates, beginning with Passover of April 2014 and ending with the Feast of Tabernacles on September 28, 2015—around which time Israel will celebrate the end of the Sabbath year.
The next blood moon will occur October 8, 2014.
The Biblical record for the Jubilee Calendar dates back to the time of Moses. A Jubilee occurs every 49 (7 times 7) years.
30 Jubilees transpired from the time of Moses to the time of Christ. (49 times 30 = 1470 years)
28-29 AD marked the beginning of Christ’s ministry. It was a year of Jubilee, as confirmed by early Church father, Eusebius. It was the 30th Jubilee from when Joshua led the children of Israel into the promised land. Jesus’ proclamation from Isaiah 61: “to proclaim freedom to the captives”, shows that His ministry was to reclaim mankind from the clutches of Satan. This was a Jubilee proclamation.
If you do the math, 40 Jubilees later (49 times 40 = 1960) would suggest that 1988-89 was the year of the 70th Jubilee since 1960 years from 28 AD brings us to 1988 AD.
However, dendrochronologists have confirmed that the Anno Domino calender is off by 27 years. Dendrochronologists have studied tree rings from ancient Roman bridges and compare them with historic records to determine the accuracy of calendar dating. I have a link to confirm this:

Add 27 years to 1988 AD and we find that 2015-16 AD is actually the year of the 70th Jubilee. 70 is a very significant number in Bible prophecy, if you consider Jeremiah’s 70 year prophecy and Daniel’s 70 sevens prophecy. I believe the 70th Jubilee coincides with the seven trumpets blowing in Revelation, in which Satan has to give up control of Planet Earth to its original Creator. As the angel proclaims at the sound of the last trump, “the kingdoms of this Earth have become the kingdoms of Christ.” This is a great Jubilee proclamation.
The year before a Jubilee is always a Shmita year in Jewish law, where the land must remain fallow. Shmita are the backbone of Jewish record keeping. Every seventh year is a Shmita. The rabbis have been keeping track for centuries. The current nation of Israel adheres to the Shmita requirements. Sure enough, 2014-15 AD is the next Shmita year according to the chief rabbis in Israel.
The Great Tribulation, according to both Daniel and Revelation, will last 42 months. So count back 42 months from the 2015-16 Jubilee and it brings us to the spring of 2012. BUT..no Raptue at that time. This is the likely time for the “abomination that causes desolation” to take place, but it did not. Jesus, in his Olivet Discourse, said that the “abomination” as predicted by the prophet Daniel would be the beginning of the 42 month Great Tribulation.
Jesus, in his Discourse, also described the conditions of the Earth just prior to the Great Tribulation. Among other things, there would be earthquakes happening all over the place. There would be signs in heaven that cause distress on the Earth, resulting in tsunamis and hurricanes. He called this “the roaring and tossing of the waves”. There would be such an increase of stress and anxiety, that “men’s heart will fail because of what is happening…” Certainly, we are seeing the beginning of these things now.

This is still observed in Israel today. “On September 17, 2001—Elul 29, the day before Rosh Hashanah, the Dow Jones average saw its biggest drop ever: 7 percent. Seven years later, on September 28, 2008, (also Elul 29), the day before Rosh Hashanah, the Dow fell 777 points, or, another 7 percent. Now we are coming to the third and final shmitah since 1994 … could the coming blood moons signal a third strike economically?”
Here we come to 2015 and we even have a solar eclipse on that day. Get ready, the patterns don’t look good!”
There is more to this story that substantiates 2015-16 as a year of Jubilee
The year was 1217. Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel of Regensburg, Germany gave an amazing Jubilee prophecy just before his death. Rabbi Ben Samuel was known as a mystic and miracle worker. He was founder of the Hasidic movement and principle author of the treatise Sefer Ḥasidim which Encyclopaedia Britannica claims is “possibly the most important extant document of medieval Judaism and a major work of Jewish literature.”

Rabbi Ben Samuel prophesied that the Ottoman Turks would rule over Jerusalem for eight Jubilees. He then said that during the following Jubilee cycle, Jerusalem would be a “no man’s land”. Then he said Jerusalem would be returned to the Jews and during this tenth Jubilee the “end times” would take place. This little-known prophecy was popularized in March 2008 in the Magazine “Israel Today.”
Is there any truth to the prophecy? Let’s take a look. In 1516, the Ottoman Turks under Sultan Selim replaced the Mamluks for control of Palestine after winning the Battles of Marj Dabig in Syria and Yaunis Khan in Gaza. Eight Jubilees would pass with Jerusalem under Turkish control. Those Jubilees (according to my calculations, each 49 years apart) were:

The eighth Jubilee ended in the fall of 1917. Three months later General Allenby of the British chased the Turks out of Jerusalem. Then would begin a 49-50 year time in which Jerusalem would be “in no man’s land.” Even after Israel became a nation in 1948, a strip of land called “no-man’s land” divided Jerusalem.
I would suggest that the next Jubilee year, 49-50 years after Allenby’s conquest, occurred in 1966-67. During that year, the Jews gained control over Jerusalem. This would begin the “end times” according to Rabbi Judah Ben Samuel when he prophecied before his death in 1217. This Jubilee cycle will last another 49-50 years, ending (according to my calculations) in 2016-2017.
Perhaps this is why we see such an intensifying of events in the world. The time is near….
Fact one: Nation of Israel practices Shmita law. Beginning in 1951, agricultural land in Israel is required to remain untilled. Last year of Shmita was 2007. Next year of Shmita begins in Sept. 2014.
Fact two: Year of Jubilee happens in 49-50 year cycles, following the 7th year of Shemita. In Jubilee, all debts are supposed to be cancelled, all land is supposed to be returned to its original owner. Liberty is proclaimed throughout the land. (Interestingly, the Jubilee verse on liberty appears inscribed on the Liberty Bell in Philadelphia.)Unfortunately, the state of Israel has yet to recognize a year of Jubilee. Apparently, the wealthy Jews don’t want to let go of their financial grip on the poor Jews.
Fact three: 1916 was a year of Shemita. The FOLLOWING year, Jerusalem was liberated from the Turks in 1917.
Fact four: 1965 was a year of Shmita, 49 years after the 1916 Shmita. The FOLLOWING year, Jerusalem was re-liberated from the Arabs.
This would suggest that both 1916 and 1965 were 7th Shmitas, preceding a year of Jubilee. Liberation is the central theme of Jubilee. This would suggest that 2015-2016 will be the next Jubilee.
Fact five: We are currently in the 70th Jubilee cycle since the very first Jubilee, which occurred when Joshua led the children of Israel into the promised land and liberated it from the Canaanites. The beginning of that liberation was heralded with the blowing of the Yobel rams horns. The word “Jubilee” comes from Yobel. At the blowing of the seventh trumpet, the walls of Jericho collapsed.
Fact six: The book of Revelation speaks of seven trumpets blown by angels, heralding the transfer of ownership of the whole planet Earth. “The kingdoms of this world have become the kingdoms of Christ” announces the angel.
I would suggest the book of Revelation describes a scenario in which the whole planet is liberated from the clutches of Satan and his antichrist. It is global liberation.
Fact seven: 70 is a prophetic number. Daniel the prophet spoke of 70 sevens that must be fulfilled in order for redemption to come. Jeremiah the prophet spoke of 70 years of judgment in which Israel would be enslaved to Babylon. The enslavement, by the way, occurred because Israel did not keep the statutes of the Jubilee. The noble class would not let the serfs go free. Therefore the nobles were enslaved to their worst enemy, Babylon.
I would suggest that the 70th Jubilee is extra significant in that the real estate of the whole planet will be returned to its original owner, the Creator. 2015 could be the year!
So what happens before then? Jesus said there would be a time of great tribulation worse than any other time in history. Don’t think Satan is going to be nice about giving back the planet to the Creator. This will be WW III.
Jesus referred to Daniel’s prophecies about this time. Daniel said this time would be for 1260 days, or 3 1/2 years. The book of Revelation concurs with this, referring to 42 months as the time of the great struggle.
IF (big if)….2015 is the year of Jubilee (beginning in September 20 and ending in September of 2016.), then the beginning of the great tribulation would be 1260 days prior to that, which is the Passover season in April 2016. This of course puts us in the middle of the tribulation period if we calculated this according to western christianity..but if done by the prophecy of Judah Ben Samuel, The Rabbi from Germany, the Messianic Jubilee would end in September of 2017, and Messiah could come at any time after that period. If this was the Rapture, then we would be looking at 2017 as the starting year of the possible return of Christ for the Church according to the prophecy. Placing this time frame around the year or blood red moons or Shimtah is no guarantee of the time Christ could return, but sends a monumental message of the signs all occurring at the same time….In addition, a sign in the book of Revelation appears in the heavens in 2017.
