Last year (2014) the pope stood before the Church of Rome’s Pontifical Academy of Sciences and declared that the Creator God the Almighty Jehovah used evolution to create all living organisms on Earth. Francis’ reasoning was along the lines that God is not omnipotent and could not create anything that He might like to and so He had to use evolution (a very wasteful process) to develop life on our planet. God also used the big bang apparently to create the Universe because He was not powerful enough to do it by himself.
One online news source headlined it with “Pope Francis declares evolution and Big Bang theory are real and God is not ‘a magician with a magic wand’ .” So Francis does not believe the plain reading of the biblical text. That means he denies the truth of Scripture. He denies the plain statements of the Lord Jesus Christ who said:
“But from the beginning of the creation God made them male and female.” (Mark 10:6)
and
“… he which made them at the beginning made them male and female.” (Matthew 19:4)
The pope was speaking about creationism and intelligent design, which, some apparently argue was encouraged by his predecessor, Benedict XVI, but I seriously doubt that.
The pope is quoted as saying: “When we read about Creation in Genesis, we run the risk of imagining God was a magician, with a magic wand able to do everything. But that is not so.” (my emphasis added)
What does that spell out? A denial of the Word of God. Jesus the Creator clearly said it; man and woman were created at the beginning of creation, not at the end, as billions of years of evolution were supposed to have preceded their arrival, with them evolving from some past apelike ancestor about a million years ago or so. A million years or less than that is a tiny fraction compared to the alleged 3.8 billion year timeline for evolution on planet earth. And it is even much less if you compare it to 13.8 billion years since so-called big bang. Either Jesus was telling a lie about the beginning of creation or pope Francis is calling Jesus a liar. Either way Francis hasn’t a clue. He said we cannot think of God like a magician. Well He may not be a magician but He is the only One who has always been there and can and did create the Universe out of nothing — ex nihilo.
In the beginning God created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And the Spirit of God moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And God said, Let there be light: and there was light. (Genesis 1:1-3)
He created the whole Universe out of nothing. God spoke it into existence.
Mine hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, and my right hand hath spanned the heavens: when I call unto them, they stand up together. (Isaiah 48:13)
The pope heads up the false church that denies the Word of God. It is sad that so many hear his message in the world, that so many believe falsely in another gospel, which is antichrist. Only Jesus can save you. None of your good works earn you any merit before God. The living God created the Universe and all life on this planet. He created out of nothing.
…the worlds were framed by the word of God, so that things which are seen were not made of things which do appear. (Hebrew 11:3)
That is out of nothing. God is mightier than any magician. In that sense Francis got one thing right.
Beware! It starts with a denial of God’s Word and ends with a denial of Jesus Christ come in the flesh. That is the spirit of antichrist.
